Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser Skin Resurfacing is an advanced treatment that combats the signs of aging, scarring, and uneven skin tone. The results speak for themselves!

The laser works by coagulating the top layer of skin to encourage the production of collagen and elastin. Laser Skin Resurfacing is our most aggressive treatment, but also with the most significant results. Our guests have reported the reduction of fine lines and smoother skin texture and tone overall. This treatment is also a great way to reduce the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, and stretch marks.

Laser Skin Resurfacing FAQs

Does Laser Skin Resurfacing hurt?

There is some discomfort involved with this treatment. Numbing cream is applied 30 minutes before the treatment. After you return home from the treatment, you may feel as though you’ve accidentally fallen asleep on the beach for a few hours. Ice is applied after the treatment is complete. Most of our guests expressed that it’s not as bad as they were expecting.

Should I plan for any down time?

Yes. We recommend about 4-5 days while the skin heals. There will be significant results over the next 7-10 days and your skin will continue to improve over time. You may want to alter your daily routine if it involves vigorous work outs while your skin heals. Your esthetician will give you specific instructions for your post-treatment recovery.

What can I do to prepare for Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Refrain from using products containing alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy acids, benzyl peroxide, retinoids or exfoliation on the face for at least two weeks prior to treatments. Exfoliation includes microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, and chemical peels. If you’re taking antibiotics or steroids, schedule your appointment at least two weeks following your last dose.

We strongly encourage you to make a commitment of staying out of the sun and avoid the use of sunscreen after the treatment and beyond. Spots will return if your skin is exposed to the sun without protection.

How often can I receive treatments?

Typically, we can schedule follow up appointments every 4-6 weeks, but we may suggest more time depending on the degree of correction and the results. Each person’s individual work and activity schedule is taken into account.

How many treatments will I need?

It is possible to see significant results with just one treatment. A series of 3 treatments can produce remarkable improvement in the overall texture and elasticity of your skin. Your consultation with our team will determine how many treatments you’ll need in order to reach your goals.

Where on my body can I get Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Treatments are most often performed on the face and neck. The chest can be included and will be evaluated during your consultation. This technology is also used in the treatment of scars and stretch marks.
